Dental anesthesia is gently given. Approximately 0.5-2 millimeters is removed from the front surface and biting edge of a tooth. (The amount of removal corresponds to the eventual thickness of the final veneer.) There are 2 methods that we use to make veneers once the correct amount has been removed. Various factors will dictate which method is used for your veneers. We will use the method that is most appropriate for your individual case.
Method A: An optical impression is taken of the teeth and the veneers are made and installed on the same day using the CAD/CAM system CEREC.
Method B: Impressions of the teeth are taken to make a stone model replica. This is sent to a dental laboratory in Calgary (Complete Dental Ceramics) for fabrication of the veneers. Temporary veneers are placed on your teeth until the final veneers are made. This process takes roughly two weeks.
Veneers placed on teeth that have healthy gums and no cavities will be the easiest. Teeth with gum disease and/or cavities may require additional procedures.
Procedure time: 1 - 1.5 hrs
Fee Range: $778 - $975
